The Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal Khattar, has initiated the distribution of Below Poverty Line (BPL) Ration Cards and Antodaya Cards (AAY) to deserving families in Haryana. Previously, over 28 lakh BPL families in Haryana were provided with BPL Ration Cards. According to recent data collected from the Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP), 16 lakh families have been removed from the list, while 3 lakh new families have been included in the Ration Card list.

The Haryana AAY Ration Card, or Antyodaya Anna Yojana Ration Card, is issued to families that are considered the most economically disadvantaged. These are families with no member having a specified income or any earning member. Such families are provided with pink color Ration Cards known as Haryana AAY Ration Cards. Haryana families with an annual income of up to ₹10,000 and falling below the poverty line are eligible for BPL Ration Cards. These are families struggling to make ends meet, and they can apply for BPL Ration Cards. Families in Haryana that surpass the poverty line and do not face financial hardships can apply for APL Ration Cards. To be eligible for an APL Ration Card, a family's annual income should not exceed ₹1,00,000.
